Chipn is a Fintech startup based in India. It automatically saves and invests your money every time you make an expenditure. Chipn aims to expose young adults to investing and educate them about their spending habits.
Design Process
As experienced designers, we were responsible for both the strategy and the final visual output of this website.
Discover
We began by conducting an audit of the current website to determine areas for improvement. Additionally, we performed a comprehensive competitor analysis of companies such as Razorpay, Revolut, CRED, Ivella, Zest, Brex, Chime, Groww, Klarna, Jupiter, Plaid, and others to establish industry benchmarks.
Define
Clearly describing the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) is important to help users understand the product and make decisions quickly without confusion.Chipn's core feature is its variety of investment methods, which include:
- One-Time Investment
- Round-Up Investment
- Percentage-Based Investment
- Recurring Investment
Design System
The UI design process began by creating a consistent design system. This system encompasses various elements such as buttons, typography, color palette, dialogue boxes, and popups, ensuring a cohesive visual experience.
Additionally, the design system incorporates a light-mode UI with a sea-blue accent. This choice of color aims to evoke a sense of trust for the mobile app.
Wireframes
Wireframing was performed in the initial stages to explore usability. This allows for brainstorming and making changes with minimal effort.
We adopted a mobile-first approach to create designs with better user experience (UX) for the majority of internet users.
UI Design
The UI features vibrant custom credit card templates that resemble real credit cards found in the user's physical wallet. Additionally, the core sections of the app, namely onboarding and investment strategies, incorporate playful 3-D illustrations. These illustrations align with current design trends and give the app a friendly and Gen-Z-oriented feel.
